The Movers is a great company to work with! (We moved from So IL to South Central MO.) April came out ahead of time to personally inventory our home, barn & garden shed. I was stressed to the max but April was very kind and understanding. Communication was great. We had to change the pick up date a few times but they were fine with that. Bill and his crew arrived early on the pick up date and flew through the house. It became comical because they grabbed everything including half packed suitcases, pet food, odds and ends, boxes that weren't taped yet. Very efficient! They took the time to be careful with fragile items. One of the guys even put a plastic cup over a decorative item on my furniture to protect it. They were on time at the other end. Cheerful and efficient the entire move. They were patient with making sure everything was put where we wanted in our new home. I would highly recommend The Movers for your next adventure to your new home.

I just had the best experience with this moving company. They called to let me know the estimated time they will be at the house, they took the time to load everything in the truck as well as unloading at the new place. Always professional and very respectful of the property and items moved. I know they worked very hard doing their job they were hired for, but did it with such a grace and positive awesomeness. Their price is very competitive compared to other places I got a quote from. A couple of jokes here and there, just made the experience even cooler. I'm so glad I decided to hired them, it was a very positive experience and I would definitely recommended 100%. They are a lifesaver, from my point of view, because my husband and I couldn't have done what they were able to do and they worked really hard and totally deserve the pay. It just felt like family members (that know what they are doing) helping us move. THANK YOU Bill and Marion for such a great experience and helping us with our move, we appreciate all your hard work.

The Movers helped me move from Carbondale Illinois to Orono Maine last July/August (2019). They did an excellent job from start to finish. I have to move long distance again this summer. If Maine is not so far away from Illinois, I would definitely use them again. There are two things I like the most about The Movers: (1) They use a dedicated truck to ship my goods, so I can rest assured that my goods won't co-mingle with those of other households and get lost during the move, which is common in long-distance moves if you use one of those national van lines or book through one of their local agents. (2) They handle both the loading at the pick-up location and the unloading at destination themselves, so you know you'll get high quality service in both locations. In most long-distance moves, the local agent you contract with at origination simply outsources the unloading to a local agent at destination through the national van line's network, so it's hard to control quality of service at destination, which is often the source of many complaints. Besides, everyone I interacted with, from April and her daughter during the in-home survey to Bill and his crew during the loading and unloading, are professional, nice, courteous, and fun to work with. The pricing is very good too, especially considering the 5-star service they provided. The truck arrived on time for both pick-up and delivery, and they kept me informed of the progress during every step of the move. The fact that they use their own truck and crew and have total control of the process really gives them a big advantage. I should have written the review sooner, but was busy settling down when I first arrived in Maine. Now as I go through the grueling process of finding a good mover for my upcoming move to Virginia, I feel I should share my experience of my last move, so southern Illinoisans know who to call if they need help moving across the country! -Claire L.
