Beware of shady business practice. They will overcharge you and not give your money back. We hired this company to move us from Fairfax, Va to Alexandria Va. we were given an initial quote of 689 for 3 hours. In order to book you must pay a 100 dollar deposit. Come move in day crew arrived on time and promptly began to start working. Once we had arrived at the new address before they began offloading you get a new updated quote that based is based on the new projected time it will take to finish. You must sign and pay the full price upfront before they start to offload your items. The deposit that you paid originally does not get deducted. I paid for 5.5 hours of labor. They finished the job in 4.5 hours. I was told by the crew that I would be refunded my deposit as well as the cost of the extra hour. Every time I call for an update they say they have to send the file to some other person. It has been close to 3 months and I still have not received my refund.
Response from TriState Moving and Storage Washington Dc
We’re sorry to hear about your frustration. We take billing concerns seriously and want to clarify that customer deposits are normally credited toward the total moving charges—not added as an additional charge. Final charges are based on the actual services performed, time worked, and any materials used, as documented on the signed moving paperwork. We would like to review your file, including the original estimate, deposit payment, signed bill of lading, final labor time, and the refund you state was promised. If our records confirm that a credit or refund remains due, we will address it promptly. Because we cannot identify your move from this review alone, please contact our office at 301-468-6683 and ask for management, or email info@tristatemovingandstorage.com with the name and date of the move so we can investigate and provide a definitive response....
