Local services and rules

Moving to Palm Coast: who to call and what the city asks.

Palm Coast, in Flagler County, sits on 70 miles of saltwater and freshwater canals and the Intracoastal Waterway. Garage sales are written into the city code: under Palm Coast Code Chapter 16 Article V, up to two garage sales per year may be held at the same location, and up to four families may join in.

Palm Coast Utilities: water, sewer and reclaimed water

Palm Coast Utilities provides drinking water, wastewater treatment and reclaimed water for the community.

The City's Customer Service page lets residents set up new utility service for water, sewer and trash. The same page also handles cancelling or transferring service.

Garbage and recycling with FCC Environmental

The City of Palm Coast contracts with FCC Environmental for garbage collection, recycling, yard waste, bulk trash and white goods removal.

Residents have two garbage collection days each week. Service day 1 collects normal household waste. Recycling is single-stream and collected weekly. Yard waste is collected at the curb each Wednesday.

Residents buy their own trash containers, which must hold 10 to 35 gallons and weigh no more than 60 pounds when emptied.

Waste containers may be put out no earlier than 6:00 PM the day before collection and must be removed by 6:00 AM the day after they are emptied.

Bulk trash and white goods at the curb

Bulk trash is picked up weekly on a resident's second trash day. It can include furniture, mattresses, TV's, dishwashers, stoves, and washers and dryers, and the pile should not go over 3 cubic yards.

White goods such as refrigerators and hot water heaters are set out at the curb for collection. Refrigerator and freezer doors must be removed.

Flagler County Public Transportation and Flagler Executive Airport

Flagler County Public Transportation is a demand response, shared ride, door to door service. It serves eligible riders countywide, with a focus on older adults and people with disabilities, and riders must apply and be approved before their first trip.

Flagler Executive Airport is county-owned and public use, and no scheduled airlines serve it.

Pet licenses, voter registration and rental registration

Dog and cat owners in Palm Coast must license their pets with the City. A current rabies certificate is required to complete pet licensing.

Voters register through the Flagler County elections office. A Flagler County registration covers national, state, county and municipal elections.

Rental property owners can register a rental property online with the City of Palm Coast.

Flood insurance discounts and hurricane evacuation zones

Palm Coast has a Community Rating System designation that gives flood insurance discounts inside and outside the Special Flood Hazard Area.

Flagler County Emergency Management has a map of Hurricane Evacuation Planning Zones that shows whether an address is in a zone that may be evacuated for a hurricane.
