SCAMMERS AND LIARS! They showed up 3 hours late.They will damage your furniture and act like they didnt and offer Zero compensation or even an apology. They broker your job over to day laborers who have no experience and show up in filthy and greasy unmarked rented U-Haul trucks with men who look like they were partying all night before. Shields Candido (the owner) is rude and inconsiderate and his operation is super sketchy. They have zero problem solving skills and cant even use common tools correctly. They show up unprepared without items like screwdrivers, moving blankets, and furniture wrapping. This is the worst moving company I have ever dealt with and I hope nobody else has to experience what I did. You have been warned! With all the other moving companies out here, you will be sorry to use this company.

If you are considering Shields Movers and Staffers LLC, understand that this company canceled on me the morning of my move, showed up unprepared, damaged my furniture, and has not followed through on resolving the damage. One week before the move, I provided detailed descriptions and photos of every item. The night before the move — at 10:00 PM — I received a call “verifying” information they already had. During that same call, they attempted to change my confirmed 9:00 AM move to 11:00 PM. Changing a scheduled move to nearly midnight the night before demonstrates a serious lack of professionalism and planning. The morning of the move, they again requested the same photos. I specifically confirmed they would provide moving materials, including couch protection and two TV boxes. I was clearly assured all necessary supplies would be provided. Shortly after sending the photos again, I received a text stating I had “too much and it was too early for them to deal with us.” At that point, I requested a refund. Only then did someone identifying themselves as a worker call and say they would “try their hardest” to complete the move that day. I had dock access at my Arlington, VA high-rise only until 1:00 PM — something they were aware of in advance. When the movers arrived, they showed up in an unbranded U-Haul truck with no company identification. Once inside my apartment, they said they were told not to move my two TVs because they were “not in the quote.” They also arrived without couch covers, shrink wrap, or TV boxes — despite previously confirming they would provide all materials. I had to leave mid-move and spend $80 of my own money at Public Storage to purchase the supplies they promised to bring. After finally wrapping my couch, the movers struggled to remove it and ripped the upholstery, causing visible damage. They contacted the owner, Candido Shields, to inform him. He did not reach out to apologize or explain next steps. When I contacted him directly, he said he would “take care of it,” and then stopped responding to calls and texts. The outcome: • Last-minute schedule changes • Repeated requests for information already provided • Broken promises regarding supplies • Out-of-pocket expenses • Damaged furniture • No follow-through on resolution I have documentation of all communications, photos provided in advance, the supply purchase receipt, and photos of the damage. I am still willing to resolve this matter professionally if the company chooses to respond and honor its responsibility. At this point, I am simply asking for accountability and appropriate compensation for the damage caused.

The movers showed up 3 hours late.

Scheduled my 3 location move a month in advance, communication was fair but slow. I emailed and confirmed all 3 locations that i needed moved into 1 storage. Quote was good and I made sure the truck size. Moved today and the 2 guys Ahmad and his friend came. Scheduled for 9am, they arrived at 9:14. Arrived with a small truck. I immediately told them i have 3 locations with 2 being already filled with stuff to move. Get inside my home and they don’t have storage pads or packaging for my tv or long mirror. I also asked did they have the tools to take my bed apart… no, I’m so confused on why this wasn’t apart of your job! They presented with confusion as if this was their first time. They started working on moving, then came to my furniture. My couch needed to be unscrewed at the bottom. I said I’d recommend yall to go across the street to Walmart to get a screwdriver like come on! After tugging at my door (as i watched) then went to Walmart to get the screwdriver. I also looked at the storage truck and asked how is the 2nd location going to fit in this truck ? Ahmed stated that they would need to drop the first load at my new storage then go back to the old storage then back to the new storage! A whole back and forth situation that i damn sure didn’t have time for! Long story that’s long, imma make short, won’t recommend ! Won’t book again! Thanks

DO NOT USE….HORRIBLE AND SKETCHY SERVICE. Punctuality - 0/10 Communication- 0/10 Overall Experience- worst ever. Explanation of Answers: Moving time comes (9AM)….no driver and no updates….2-3hours later another driver is supposed to be coming(1:30PM)…nothing…. 2:30pm, a driver from Philadelphia is now coming….3 hours (5:30PM) we finally admit defeat and figure our whole day has now been wasted and ruined by this company and their services. Would love to give 0 stars. Owner does not provide good customer service nor answers phone calls, only seems to answer via google reviews. Would not recommend to anyone. If you are looking for a mover LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE. He said we'd receive a refund for our deposit the following Wednesday and that was nearly 3 weeks ago. I’ll wait for the comment from the owner to explain himself out of this one. I would like to see where this "refund" went because I have seen no such thing and gotten no response in 10 days.

Easy to contact, easy to schedule, good price. Move scheduled at 2:30pm and confirmed no other jobs that day. Day of the job, movers say they now have another job 45min away at 2:00pm. Do the math. Didn't arrive until 5:40pm, which wasn't too bad since I was also late myself, but keep in mind Shields didn't have a problem double-booking. The movers were kind, cool, very hard workers, and fast, but rough around the edges: multiple cigarette breaks while handling upholstered furniture and mattresses with no gloves, sometimes running furniture into edges and ceilings, and responded with: "What is this, we haven't even started yet" when I tipped them $40 each for their help as soon as they arrived, even being 3 hours late. We got along great, joked, worked hard, and I helped them the entire 3 hours. Got a text from Shields just as we are finishing up to pay the balance of the job now. Movers weren't allowed to leave until I paid the balance apparently. We're dripping in sweat, idling in a box truck close to 9pm, while I fumble my phone to pay the balance so we could all 3 go back home to our wives and kids. No mention of the double booking, late arrival, or discretion to pay the balance at a more convenient time.
