The crew was great throughout the move. Kenny, Carl, and Tony did a great job as well as the two local unpackers (Marshall and another person) in Maine. Julie was also great about keeping me informed throughout the process. I would not hesitate to hire or recommend Von Paris for a move.

Even though you charged us more than $27,000, the big and small damages to our belongings which most likely happened during packing and storing our belongings were numerous. After having opened things more than 3 weeks ago during a very chaotic interstate move, we are still finding damages to our items, over and over again. We opted for a sum of $1250 for all the damages because we were sick and tired of dealing with the company. Nevertheless, the hassle and effort we need to put into fixing/cleaning the mess has created much distress and disappointment because of their negligence. The fact that it is still happening, is appalling. Never again! NR

I fully intended to write this review when I moved (MONTHS ago), but things got really busy. The fact that I still remember their stellar service and keep saying, “I need to write that review” — not because they asked, but because they were THAT good — is a testament to their superb service and staff. From beginning to end, they were phenomenal. They first came out to do an estimate and were thorough and knowledgeable. Then, as moving day got closer, another person checked in with me — super friendly and helpful. There’s so much stress centered around moving itself that it’s really nice to have someone who understands the chaos you’re currently living in, haha. On moving day, we had an incredibly competent and caring crew. They did not need to be supervised or told what to do or how to do it. That alone removed a HUGE burden. They were able to troubleshoot and problem-solve on their own, and I cannot emphasize enough how great that was. This was also one of the hottest days of the summer, and while I’m sure plenty of people would have wilted, these guys stayed strong throughout the entire move. At one point, a supervisor even showed up just to check on how things were going. Every one of the movers genuinely cared about their work. They were careful with everything, incredibly kind, and clearly took pride in what they did. There’s a reason this company has been around for so long. I recommend them with zero hesitation. I hope I don’t move again for a VERY long time 😂 — but if anyone I know is moving in the meantime, this is the first and only company I’d tell them to call.

Hired Von Paris Moving (agent for North American Van Lines) for a local move in August 2026. Summary of issues, in order: **Move day:** Crew broke a cat tree while loading. Arrived at the destination nearly 3 hours past our reserved loading dock/elevator window, and unloading ran until 6:30 PM. **Unpacking:** Boxes were pre-labeled by room using a simple system explained to the crew beforehand, but I still had to direct placement of nearly every box. Crew dropped a bedside table, scuffed the floor, and left a motorized desk partially unassembled (couldn't locate the cables). Packing debris was left throughout the apartment. **Damage found post-move:** A floor lamp, desk lamp, standing cabinet, dresser, and a bed frame were all damaged or improperly reassembled. Two additional damaged items went unclaimed because we missed the 14-day claim window. **Repair visit:** The restoration contractor attributed the bed frame's issues to the frame being unable to support our mattress's weight — despite the same frame and mattress having been in daily use without issue for 8 years. Our own contractor inspected the frame afterward and found the actual cause: several screws from the movers' reassembly hadn't been fully driven in, and one joint was missing a screw entirely. Separately, dresser drawer hardware was also found loose/missing a screw after the crew handled it during this same visit. **Claims process:** Took from Aug 20 to late September to resolve, including an 18-day gap before the company requested additional documentation, and no updates unless I initiated contact. The cat tree claim was denied because it "wasn't available for inspection" — it was damaged and left behind before the truck was even loaded. The standing cabinet claim was denied under a blanket policy exclusion for engineered wood furniture, regardless of the cause of damage. Between the handling of our belongings and a slow, unresponsive claims process, I can't recommend this company.
