Mauldin is a city in Greenville County, South Carolina, and the area stretching from Mauldin to Fountain Inn is known as the Golden Strip. Public Works collects curbside leaves from October 1 to May 1, and loose leaves may be placed at the curb or edge of the street to be vacuumed. Sanitation crews collect curbside Christmas trees, and residents may also drop trees off at Springfield Park after removing all lights and decorations.
Weekly trash and recycling pickup
Public Works offers weekly trash and recycling pickup through the year to residents and businesses. City-approved trash cans and recycling carts are bought through the Business and Development Office, in person at City Hall or online. A purchased trash can or recycling cart is delivered to the address within 2-3 business days.
Only the green City of Mauldin trash can is serviced; Public Works will not service any other can. Food waste and glass are not allowed in the recycling cart.
Bulky item pickups and street sweeping
Bulky items may be picked up case by case, and a pickup request must be made to Public Works to schedule it. Public Works runs a street sweeping program that removes dirt, garbage and other materials from city streets and paths.
Drop-off sites on Hipps Road and Augusta Road
Items not accepted in the trash can, such as paints, solvents, tires, propane tanks and electronics, can be hauled to Simpsonville Residential Waste at 517 Hipps Road or Twin Chimney Landfill at 11075 Augusta Road, Honea Path. Residents may haul their own yard debris to Simpsonville Residential Waste or to Twin Chimney Landfill in Honea Path.
