Gentle Giant Moving Company

Super awesome interstate move experience with Stefan, Rudy, Abdou and Han!!

This move was the third one in the past 9 months that I have done with Gentle Giant, which says everything you need to know right there… And each of these moves was somewhat complicated… Everything began back in August, 2025, when my mother, who had been seriously ill, moved to a retirement/care community, and naturally wanted some of her beautiful antiques and familiar furniture with her… The challenge was she was moving to a studio apartment (all the place had available at the time). And being a decorator, I had the challenge of furnishing her studio and making it seem spacious and attractive — which I was able to do with the crew that the marvelous Move Coordinator at GG — Rachael Welch — assembled for us…They were amazing — moves a several pieces of furniture around from my Mum’s home that I wasn’t sure would work — and then took the furniture that didn’t work in the studio apartment back to my Mum’s house… Then — only 4 months later — my mother moved to a beautiful 1 bedroom apartment— and we had to repeat the whole process — this time moving more furniture from my Mum’s home — including her fragile collection of antique Staffordshire…. Once again Rachael Welsh assembled a ‘crackerjack’ team — and they did an absolutely marvelous job… And then, fast forward to June 2026, when my mother finally sold her home of 23 years in Greeenwich, CT, and I had to move out all the remaining heirlooms, family antiques and memorabilia to my apartment in Manhattan. Some of the furniture consisted of very valuable antique items, and the team Rachael assembled for me — Garfield and Chase — were absolutely wonderful and did a stellar job, as well as being truly kind and sensitive people… I apologize for the length of this review — but I really did want to emphasize how amazing Gentle Giant Moving really is…G.G. Is far more than simply a highly professional moving company — the people who work there, and wrap and pack and move things with such great care, kindness, and even a humorous twinkle in their eyes — make the whole process a truly pleasing experience — which the process of moving generally isn’t.. The team of Stefan, Garfield, Dusan Marvin, Brandon and Yariel worked really well together and with us to make the unloading experience very efficient and seamless.. Each of them was pleasant and gracious as we worked through the placement (and in some cases re-placement) of our furniture and boxes.. Really glad we chose Gentle Giant and had the opportunity to work with this team..
