Hired McAvey for an last minute move. They had availability and came the next morning. Bill and his crew showed up when they said they would, all five of them were thoroughly professional, polite, careful, and respectful. They asked before using the bathroom, they were careful with the stuff and the house, they were nice to the kids, they worked super hard all day. The price was completely reasonable and there were no surprises at all - I paid the agreed-upon price. Moving in general was a pain, but these guys made the “moving the stuff” part of it the easiest part.

McAvey packed framed paintings and labeled each one, mirrors, glasses, china, five barrister bookcases (with glass fronts), plus they disassembled and assembled a dining table, a wrought iron bed, and a large screen television with base. And they moved a piano. No issues. No breakage. The team is efficient, professional, and a pleasure to work with. My family used McAvey seven times over 20 years including a 2026 move from Manhattan to Chicago, several 2018-2023 Westchester moves, plus a Manhattan move in March 2020, the height of the Covid outbreak. A remarkable team.

What a wonderful experience with our first move after being in a home for 28 years. (i.e., we had lots of stuff). Brian, McAvey’s owner, responded quickly to our request for a quote and came to the home to provide the estimate. Their price was very reasonable, and all the options were laid out for us. We were able to adjust items, and the team, including Toni in the office, accommodated every need we had. The final price came in right in line with the estimate. On moving day, his team (Sean, Hugo, Felix, and Fred) were quick and clean. Move out was a damp day and they took care to protect the floors and keep it all clean. They took such great care to wrap and protect all our furniture and moved all the boxes we had packed. They got our stuff to our new home on time and quickly moved it all in and set up the furniture they dissembled. Cannot say enough good things about working with McAvey from start to finish. Highly recommend them for anyone that needs a reliable company to handle your move.

We can’t say enough positive things about our experience using McAvey Movers. From start to finish we were treated with professionalism and dedication to service. They were the only company that sent a person to the house to discuss and assess our moving needs. The day before the move they came and wrapped all of the furniture and helped finish packing the fragile items. The move into a storage unit went smoothly (they fit everything we own into a 10x15 unit like Tetris experts! Moving out was a breeze (even in the rain) - they treated our home like their own. Not one item was damaged in any way! An added bonus - all of their employees were friendly, professional, and personable (just plain nice people).
