Editing to mention that one of the owners Sean reached out to me to make the situation right which I really appreciate. I think there were probably some things both of us could have communicated better at the time. He came over and touched up my steps. No business is going to be perfect 100% of the time, but Stumpf was willing to have a reasonable conversation, and to go the extra mile to make things right. That’s why you support small business and why I can say that I definitely recommend Stumpf for all moving needs, and particularly for pianos.<br><br>The movers themselves worked hard, and they ultimately succeeded in moving my grand piano into a difficult city house.<br><br>I was moving from a city apartment with difficult parking into a city home with multiple steps and limited access, so I understood from the beginning that this would not be an easy move. When it came time to move the piano into the house, I suggested using the side entrance, but Mr. Stumpf and his team felt the front steps were the better option. Mr. Stumpf mentioned there was some risk of damage to the steps, and I told him, “If there’s any way to avoid that I’d appreciate you trying, but if it comes down to the steps or the piano, I choose the piano.”<br><br>Unfortunately, after multiple attempts, they were unable to get the piano in that way, and my steps were damaged in the process. Ultimately, they ended up bringing the piano in through the side entrance I had originally recommended.

I hired Stumpf Moving & Storage to move my grand piano, and they did a fantastic job! The move wasn’t easy. The piano had to be moved down a flight of stairs at my old home and up another flight of stairs at my new home. Despite the challenge, the movers never seemed bothered by the amount of stairs or the complexity of the job.<br><br>They carefully wrapped and protected the piano, worked efficiently, and it was obvious they knew exactly what they were doing. The entire process was smooth and professional from start to finish. Moved a spinner piano on SUPER short notice (I literally went to the office the day before we got it moved) and they were very accommodating and willing to help. Very affordable as well given it was a crew of 3-4 guys for both pick up and drop off. Also the fact they have storage if you need it for not that much extra is a huge bonus!
