The station is closed or delayed whenever the public schools are closed or delayed for inclement weather. Open burning permits are issued at the Fire Marshal office throughout the year.

Water and sewer billing and connections

Water and sewer use in Bethel is read and billed on a quarterly basis. Each billing period covers approximately three months. Billing questions go to the office of the Tax Collector.

Connecting to the municipal water supply requires the water and sewer permit and a Road Opening bond. Municipal water serves the downtown and southwestern portions of Bethel. Municipal sewer serves the downtown and southwest portions of Bethel, the Stony Hill area and the commercial area along Route 6.

Bethel has a Metro North parking facility at 13 Durant Avenue. The facility is open to permit holders and daily paid parking only. Annual train parking permits have no waiting list. They are renewed annually in December for the following calendar year.

SweetHART offers door-to-door transportation for seniors age 60 or older and for persons of any age with disabilities. Reservations are made in advance.
