Moving to Sevierville: who to call and what the city asks.

All household garbage the City collects goes to the Sevier Solid Waste, Inc. composting facility on Ridge Road. City property tax is paid to the City only for addresses inside the Sevierville city limits, which can be checked on the City's city limits map; outside the limits, the page lists Sevier County at 865-453-5502. The City's FAQ defines a short-term rental unit as a residential dwelling rented, in full or in part, for less than 30 continuous days.

Snow plows and leaf collection

In snow, the City plows streets by priority and does not treat private streets, commercial driveways or other privately-owned travel ways. Property owners or residents clear their own driveway entrance and exit after the plows pass. The City generally does not clear sidewalks; residents are encouraged to clear the sidewalks in front of their homes and not to put snow into the street.

Loose leaf collection is a free seasonal service for City residents who pay for curbside garbage collection. It generally begins around mid-October and runs into early January.

Curbside garbage at $20.00 per month

The City's Public Works Department handles residential curbside garbage collection. It is requested by contacting Public Works by email or at 865-429-4567, and it costs $20.00 per month.

Garbage containers go to the curb after 6:00 pm the night before or by 6:00 am on pickup day. Containers are removed from the curb by 6:00 p.m. after collection, and a replacement fee is charged for damaged or stolen containers.

Bulk rubbish pickup and the roll-off container

Household bulk rubbish and junk is collected for curbside garbage customers. The schedule is on the City's Bulk Rubbish Pick Up map, or available by calling 865-429-4567. Junk goes to the curb by 6 a.m. Monday of the scheduled collection week, and no earlier than the Sunday before.

City residential customers can rent a roll-off container for a 30-day period for remodeling or clean-outs. The cost is the current tipping fee plus a $150 haul fee.

Center View convenience center and the Public Works recycling bins

The Center View convenience center at 943 Center View Road, Sevierville, is open Monday to Saturday 8:00 am to 6:00 pm and Sunday 12:00 to 6:00 pm. It takes household garbage, electronics, mattresses, furniture, metal, used motor oil and more. The convenience centers accept paint only when it is completely dried; liquid paint is not accepted.

For chemicals, the City's curbside garbage page points residents to the convenience center on Center View Road.

Plastic bottle and jug and aluminum can recycling containers are at the City's Public Works Department.

Sevier County Utility District gas and City water and sewer

Sevier County Utility District supplies natural gas. A property that has never had gas installed needs a New Service Application. If gas is already installed at the property, the new resident fills out the Transfer Existing Services form to put the service in their name.

The City bills water and sewer by meter size and gallons used. Rates do not include sales tax, a non-refundable service charge, and deposits for all new customer accounts.

Relocate to Sevierville page, King Family Library and McGhee Tyson Airport

The Sevierville Chamber of Commerce has a Relocate to Sevierville page with a Community Resources Guide and a free Sevierville Planner for people moving to the area.

The King Family Library, at 408 High St. in Sevierville, is the main library of the Sevier County Public Library System.

Sevierville is less than an hour from Knoxville's McGhee Tyson Airport (TYS). Car rental and taxi service are available from that airport, and the Gatlinburg-Pigeon Forge Airport in Sevierville is used for private jets.
