Local services and rules

Moving to Eatontown: who to call and what the city asks.

Eatontown is a borough in Monmouth County, New Jersey. The Eatontown Sewerage Authority exists for the residents of the Borough of Eatontown. Fall leaf collection takes leaves only in biodegradable bags, which are sold at lawn and garden centers. Residents may take compost and mulch from sheds at Memorial School and Meadowbrook School beginning in April.

Green trash receptacles and blue recycling receptacles

Household trash goes in the large green receptacles provided by the borough. Receptacles go to the curb after 6:00pm the evening before pick up and no later than 6:00am the morning of pick up. No household trash is collected when the regular pick up day falls on New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day, and no other holidays change the schedule.

Curbside recycling goes in blue receptacles. Recycling is kept loose in the receptacles, not in plastic bags. Curbside recycling has no pick-up on the 5th Wednesday of any month.

Bulk trash and sidewalk snow

Bulk trash includes old furniture, rugs, mattresses and appliances, and excludes construction materials, tires, paint cans and propane tanks. It goes at the curb line between 6:00pm and 11:00pm on the Sunday before the scheduled collection week.

Sidewalks must be cleared of snow and ice within 12 hours of daylight.

Monmouth County hazardous waste facility and electronics recycling

The Monmouth County Household Hazardous Waste Facility takes motor oil, antifreeze, gasoline, pesticides, paints, solvents, pool chemicals and propane barbecue tanks, in marked containers with original labels.

An electronic recycling container is available to residents, and ID is required to use the facility.

Eatontown Public Schools registration and the Eatontown Library

Eatontown Public Schools take student registration online, and registration may also be completed in person. Registration with Eatontown Public Schools asks for a driver licence or photo ID, the child's original birth certificate, passport or adoption papers, and proof of Eatontown residency such as a current lease, mortgage statement, or tax bill.

Residents get a library card at the Eatontown Library by stopping in with proof of residency.

Tax Collector, Clerk's Office and building inspections

The Tax Collector bills and collects tax payments and assists residents with problems relating to mortgage escrow accounts.

The Clerk's Office issues dog licenses, and the Municipal Clerk accepts landlord/tenant registrations.

Construction inspections must be requested through an online portal or by email. Animal control is handled in partnership with the Monmouth County SPCA.
