Local services and rules

Moving to Parker: who to call and what the city asks.

Snow operations and maintenance on State Highway 83 (South Parker Road) belong to the Colorado Department of Transportation, not the Town. Dogs and cats in Parker no longer need a Town license, though an ID tag must be on the cat or dog at all times. Parker sits in Douglas County, in the Denver metropolitan area.

Right-of-Way Permits and truck routes

Parker requires a Right-of-Way Permit for all work within, or that may affect, the public right-of-way.

Parker has designated truck routes, and any vehicle over 10,000 lbs must stay on them. Exceptions are allowed for local deliveries.

Two-hour parking downtown

On-street parking in downtown Parker is limited to two hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Plowing and street sweeping

Parker does not plow local residential streets and cul-de-sacs unless six inches or more of snow has accumulated or there is major drifting.

The Town sweeps all of its streets, including residential streets, on a schedule from late April through early October. The schedule groups streets by neighborhood, including Challenger Park, Compark Village, Cottonwood Highlands, Bradbury Ranch, Clarke Farms and Jordan Crossing.

CORE electric service

To start or stop CORE electric service at an existing home, use CORE's online form or call CORE Member Services at (800) 332-9540.

Water, sewer and flood zone questions

The Town of Parker does not provide water or sanitation service. The Town lists Cottonwood Water and Sanitation District, Parker Water and Sanitation District and Stonegate Village Metropolitan District as the providers.

Not every Parker address is served by Parker Water & Sanitation District. The district asks you to confirm your address by calling its Customer Care team at 303-841-4627. Its New Resident Information page asks you to confirm first whether you are in its service area.

When a home is bought in the district, the title company contacts the district for the seller's final bill. A new customer can set up an online account only after the first bill arrives, using the account number and service address number.

Town Engineering staff can discuss your flood risk and provide flood zone information in person at Town Hall, at your property or by phone at 303.840.9546.

Trash, recycling and drop-off sites

The Town of Parker does not provide trash or recycling service. For trash pick-up the Town points residents to private companies or their homeowners' association.

The Town's recycling page lists HBS Trash Services, 720.547.8600, as providing regular recycling collection. It also lists the Household Waste Collection Program from the Douglas County Health Department, and Douglas County Greenworks electronics recycling at 5675 Delva Way, Sedalia. The Town's list of other agencies names the Sedalia Landfill for trash and dump.

Cable and internet providers

The Town lists Xfinity, CenturyLink, DirectTV and Dish for cable television, and Century Link, Comcast, DirectLink and Viasat for telephone and internet.

Schools, library cards and RTD

Students residing in Parker are within the Douglas County School District RE 1. The district has an admissions page for new students that explains the admissions process and required documents. Douglas County Libraries issues library cards through an online registration page.

Most of the Town of Parker is within the Regional Transportation District (RTD). Link On Demand offers free curb-to-curb rides between Parker, Castle Rock, Highlands Ranch and Lone Tree.
