Walled Lake is a city in Oakland County, Michigan. South Commerce, Fourteen Mile, Pontiac Trail and Maple Road east of Pontiac Trail are the County roads in the city, and the Road Commission for Oakland County maintains them. The Department of Public Service maintains the major and local City roads. Open burning of brush, yard waste and leaves is not permitted in the city.
Wednesday refuse pickup and the RRRASOC drop-off site
Refuse pickup is on Wednesdays, with trash at the curb by 5:30 a.m. When a holiday falls on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, pickup is delayed one day. 64-gallon recycling carts are available on request to Walled Lake curbside recycling customers. The refuse hauler for the city picks up branches less than 2 inches in diameter that are bundled in 4-foot lengths.
The RRRASOC recycling drop-off site is at 20000 W. Eight Mile Road in Southfield and is open daylight hours, 7 days a week. Polystyrene foam, household hazardous waste and electronics are not accepted there.
Oakland County water billing and the Treasurer office
The Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner operates and maintains the water and sewer system for the city and generates the water, sewer and refuse billings. Billing services and payments for water are handled at 248-858-1110. The Treasurer office handles questions about the billing and collection of property taxes.

Property owners next to road rights of way are responsible for routine maintenance such as grass cutting, hedge trimming and removal of leaves or other debris. The Department of Public Service (DPS) runs on a 7-day, 24-hour schedule, 365 days per year, and handles snow removal on city roads.

Walled Lake Schools enrolls new students through an online EZ Registration; families review the Criteria for Enrollment and gather their documents beforehand. Local public transportation within Walled Lake and neighboring communities is by appointment only, booked at (248) 887-4979, through the Western Oakland Transportation Authority (WOTA).
